Our next day was to HOLLYWOOD to play total tourist. Upon our arrival, we ran into a man that told us that he would give us half price on the tour of the stars homes in order to fill the bus. Well, we looked around, and we saw buses that resembled the one below. Sure, we're in!
After paying our money, we proceeded to follow the driver to our tour bus. Upon arriving, we were a little shocked to see the following, yes that is us in the back row.

It was basically a 12 seater van with the roof cut off. And to make matters worse, Michelle was the only one that had a seatbelt! The one part was too large to fit into the clicky part. All in all, it turned out to be fun. Please the pictures below to see a few of the items we saw.

Mel Gibson's house:

Sorry that was all we could see....

Penelope Cruz, she almost pulled out in front of us. I was trying to decide whether it would be more beneficial to sue her or the tour company. I think it would be her.

I swear it was her! She put her hand up when she saw me acting like the paparazzi! Ask Michelle!

We also were told that we would be "visiting" the Hollywood sign. Please note that my camera has a 12x zoom lense.

I have to post a separate blog for my hero which I hope to do tomorrow.

Day 2

We went to Universal Studios for the day. As you can see, Michelle was thrilled to have her picture taken.

We went on the back lot tour and saw Wisteria Lane. I looked for the girls have to have margaritas with but they weren't around.

I didn't take a lot of pictures that day due to being on the rides. It was fun there.

San Diego, Day 1

Our first full day in San Diego was spent at the Imperial Beach sand castle competition. What better way then to spend a day in San Diego, especially since it was FREE! I was so excited to go to this as I have seen pictures previously and was amazed at how intricate the exhibits could be. I guess 500,000 other people also thought it would be a lot of fun. We ended up parking at the high school, for $5, which was probably 2 miles from the beach. Since we wanted to save ourselves (and since we are lazy) we ended up riding in the back of a bicycle taxi. Our driver had legs like the UPS man that delivers to the office, not that I really noticed. He of course gave us a break on the price, $15 plus we tipped him $5 since we were on vacation and money was no object.

I have also attached my favorite sandcastle, please look at all the people in the background and that will give you an idea of how big it really was.

And I have also attached a picture of the winning castle, the engineering was phenomenal!

After fighting the crowds, we decided to stop at a Thai restaurant that advertised Orange Chicken and fried rice for $ 5.95. Well, we found out after we sat down inside that this price was only good if we ordered it outside on the sidewalk. We went ahead and ordered it inside and ended up walking out with a $40 tab for the 3 of us. P.S. we stiffed the waitress.

Since we were so full after our lovely lunch, we decided to walk the 2 miles back to the Excursion. Upon exiting the parking lot, we came upon a slight obstacle. Bill couldn't decide if he should just run over the little red car or try to manuever around it via the sled and hill.

Being the kind person that he is, he chose the wrong route...

After our free day that ended up costing close to $400, we went back to the RV park and grilled hamburgers for dinner.

It was a great day and I can't wait to go back next year!

Blogger

Since I have so much fun stalking Aubrey's family and friends, I have decided that I would start my own blog. Since we do not have any young children anymore, mine will most likely end up being totally random thoughts, feelings, and current events. Since I am old, it will most likely take me a while to figure out how to download pictures or songs. Hopefully, Jennifer will be able to assist me with it. Now to my first blog about our San Diego Trip!!!!!
